Please join selected Members of Congress and us for a day of fun and remembrance in a great cause. Just more than seven months ago, our dear friend and colleague, Mark Valente III, departed this earth after six decades of making a difference for his family, friends, faith and country. Mark was a larger-than-life character who left a deep and wide (size quad E) footprint in his beloved home state of Michigan and in the most important city in the world, Washington, DC. Mark was a faithful servant to our Constitutional Republic as an elected and appointed government official, and for the 23 years as head of Valente & Associates.   

As you know, one of Mark’s great passions in life was supporting his Alma Mater, Villanova University, in all its forms – academic, fraternal, and athletic – offering countless hours of pro bono effort in support of his fellow and future Wildcats. It was only fitting that Mark was able to enjoy Villanova basketball’s national championship season last year – a result that brought great happiness at an otherwise difficult time.   

We now have an opportunity to perpetuate Mark’s legacy on behalf of Villanova University through the establishment of the Mark Valente III Memorial Scholarship Fund. The endowed fund will be used to assist students of Villanova’s School of Business in participating in the Washington Center Program -- a formal internship in Washington, DC -- for a semester that allows students to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of government, politics, and business. Mark was a great supporter of the internship program, and hosted dozens of Villanova students over the past two decades.
